Have Time for the Family

Although you’re busy and there’s no typical day for you, as a working mom, you need to find fulfillment to stay home to recuperate and spend some time with your family when not working.

Before you work, it’s best to first spend a lot of time at home making sure things are well and fine – that the house will not shut down, the bills are paid and the refrigerator is filled.

Have Time for Your Kids

Even if you have to travel on a certain day for work or whatever you have lined up, as a true-blue working mom, you need to wake up early to prepare and make sure that that your kids are all set for school.

Aside from seeing your kids off to school, time for the kids should also come in at night when you are home from your work. You should realize that you might really miss out and not get to know your kids as well as you’d really like.

What you have to do is literally spend time with them sitting in front of the TV – not talking not doing anything – just seeing what it is that makes them tick, what it is that makes them laugh, what they’re watching on TV, what they are fighting about, what one does want to watch and not the other, what they don’t want to watch together, which commercials they like, which toys they think are cool and not…

It’s those things that you cannot get in only five minutes of quality time ever. It’s those things that happen every day. Just be very focused and very conscious of these. Make the most of whatever time you have together. It might not be as much as others have, but it matters a lot that you’re confident that you know your kids pretty well.

It’s also nice if you can wrestle or get foolish and playful with your kids when it’s time to monkey around. Do the things they do. Meet them at their level rather than insist that they grow up right away. If you have boys, understand that boys will be boys, which means that they have to be a little more rowdy. Go ahead and get down and dirty with them because they like that.

Have Time for Your Husband

The time you and your husband spend with the kids isn’t the same with the time you spend only with each other. Try to sneak in dinner dates once in a while after work, no matter how late. Text each other, but don’t just text sweet nothings, text each other jokes, have a contest which is who can make the other one laugh harder. Try to outwit each other, it’s fun.

Advice for Working Mothers

In a time when time flies by so quickly and children grow up fast, many working moms feel guilty about not being able to spend as much time with their kids and family as they would want. It’s tough; it’s understandable why working moms what are out for such a big amount of time every day would feel guilty. But then, for most working moms, it’s out of necessity, right? Why you work is really for the family, right? So don’t feel bad. Being a working mom is a difficult decision, but it’s an intelligent move.

Always remember that you’re not the only one, that the majority are working moms already.

And, so long as you know that as best as you can you try to rear healthy God-fearing upright children in whatever capacity you can, then think that it’s good enough reason to be a working mom.

You can always make up for lost time for your family. And there’s also wisdom in allowing your child to explore and discover the world on his own.

Lastly, you can think that you have to be a working mom because you’re doing it to love yourself.

Every day strive to be the best example of a working mom. You can be what motherhood and balance are all about. Cheers for all working moms!

When I was a little girl, my mom and I used to cook and bake together, wearing matching mom and daughter aprons. We used to make her favorite, Sheperd’s Pie.

It’s sometimes these little memories that create the most impact and also create traditions in our lives.

I think that every child needs an apron for many reasons. Aprons are not just for the kitchen anymore, when I was little if you were cooking it was an apron for anything else we called them smocks. Long gone are the days of using Dad’s old shirt as a smock, today there are trendy and fashionable aprons that makes wearing them something very special.

There are many reasons to buy a child an apron, girl or boy. From cooking in the kitchen to working in the garage with dad, aprons have come back with fashion flair and wearing matching mom and daughter aprons will have your little one wanting to do her chores in her colorful matching apron.

An Apron for gardening is really great for kids. Not only will your gardening apron’s keep your clothes clean, but they are functional as well. Most children’s aprons, boys and girls, come with lots of pockets.

Your child will be able to hold all the tools they need for gardening and most importantly hold all those little things they find in the garden, just let’s hope it’s lots of rocks and no bugs! With matching aprons your child will want to help mom or dad in the garden.

Family Cleaning Day, do you remember how hard it was to get everyone to pitch in to help out getting the whole house cleaned, or getting a project done? Chances are that even your smallest, will love getting in on the family project when they have their own matching apron to proudly own and wear. They will be very excited and motivated to “get dressed” for the job and sometimes half the battle is over. When everyone is ready to go in the “cleaning apron”, the chores become more organized. Family cleaning day could be cleaning the house or cleaning up the garage.

Instead of using an old shirt for a smock for school craft activities, using an apron is a great idea. They protect the child’s clothes from glue, paint and other craft supplies. Mom… Where you be???

Mom… I often wonder where you be?
Not having you here makes it hard to see.

That the world is still good and there is a lot more to give.
I’m more focused on your absence, then trying to live.

They say you are with God in that great big blue sky.
Then why does you being with Him seem to make me wanna cry?

Couldn’t God see that you were still needed here?
Instead of taking you away where you were no longer near.

Your heart was so sweet and thoughtful to boot!
You reached out your hand to all those that you knew.

Not with judgment, criticism or an upper backhand,
But only with love and kindness towards all your fellowman.

Your friendship that I gained is worth more to me than gold.
I will forever proclaim it; it will never grow old.

For those of you who had a chance to meet this special treasure,
You all unanimously voted that she was an absolute pleasure.

For despite all her pain and unfortunate misfortunes in life,
She remained a solid rock in her faith despite all the strife.

So if you never got a chance to meet my mom that I love so dear,
Remember this…that in time your season will draw near.

For you too will crossover into that great vast spiritual plain,
Where all our dear loved ones remain just the same.

It will be there that my mom will be standing with Jesus to welcome you in,
No need for formalities because you will all be like kin.

She will welcome you to her home and ask you to visit a while,
And set you a place for some dinner, which will only make you smile.

For warm hospitality was something she always enjoyed sharing,
For she was funny, delightful and nothing but caring.

So if you get a chance to see her before it’s my turn,
Please don’t hesitate to remind her that I am waiting to learn,

Of all the wonderful things that she has done while she was away,
Cause seeing her again for me, will be one glorious, happy day!

So mom… If God happens to have you on speakerphone,
I hope you can hear me, cause I want you to know…

That I have never once forgotten the time that you were here,
The times you eased my pain and wiped away all of my tears.

The talks that we had until the wee hours of the morning,
That left me feeling refreshed and full of hope after all those painful mournings.

I didn’t really realize until after you were gone,
The strength that you gave that helped me carry on.

So please mom, remember you will always be in my heart,
And I am looking forward to the day that we can have a brand new start.

In the midst of downsizing, layoffs and the genuine need for two incomes in most families these days, there are now literally hundreds of thousands of stay at home Moms that are considering starting their own home based Internet businesses.

For those of you have had the pleasure, you know that the job of a stay at home Mom is one of the most demanding jobs you can have. I am not kidding! I have the upmost admiration for mothers who have made the decision to stay at home and care for their children, as I do for those mothers in the workplace who struggle with all the challenges that decision brings.

I have five adult daughters and on a number of occasions during their childhood, I have had the “pleasure” of staying home with my daughters for one reason or another. How did their Mother actually do that day in and day out? Listen, I will take the challenges of going to an office or running my own business any day! Hands down!

Nevertheless, there are stay at home Moms, much more capable than the author of this article, who possess not only the unique skills of being able to corral their children skillfully at home, but operate their own home based businesses as well. They have determined that they can just as easily run and manage a family as well as a business, particularly an internet based business, all from the comforts of their homes.

This is the reason that so many mothers choose to work at home. They want to establish some type of financial standings while still being able to watch over their children. Making money online can be a great idea for stay at home moms. It provides a flexible schedule as well as the benefit of little commuting. Some examples of great ways to make money online are: owning a home business, completing surveys, freelancing, and reading emails. Providing mothers with the best ways to make an income online, these opportunities put money into moms’ pockets.

Owning an online business can be difficult, but if a person is dedicated it can be very beneficial. Even though these businesses are not an easy task, they will still provide moms enough time with their children. There are many businesses to choose from. Some of the businesses require a fee to provide you with a product to sell. Others, such as Cognigen, will provide products and a website for free.

Completing surveys gives mothers total freedom. Because surveys are taken only when one agrees to take them, they are perfect for moms who children need constant care. Reading emails is a fairly easy way for stay at home moms to earn money. Emails are sent to the email address that is set up with the program. Money, which is stored to an account, is paid to the person who reads the email. Most of the programs have a minimum payout. The company will only pay a person once the minimum has been reached. One should have a separate email address just for the purpose of the emails. One can use the same email address, but it is not recommended since so many emails will be
sent.

These are just some of the ideas how stay at home Moms can establish an online internet presence, generate income for themselves and their families, without negatively their primary responsibilities at home…their children. There are thousands of stay at home Moms who are successful running home based Internet businesses today.

An Amazing Episode of WE Tv’s The Locator: Daughter Carina Meets Mom Jo Ann

On November 21, 2010, WE TV aired an episode of The Locator that featured a 27 year old woman named Carina. She lived her life believing that everyone she loves leaves her, because she was told that her mom left her when she was two years old, followed by the fact that her dad and grandmother both abandoned her as well.

Carina lived her life believing that her underage mom abandoned her, as she was told that her mom was 17 and had a lot of problems. In reality, her father stole her from her 18 year old mother, and took her to the Phillipines without mother’s consent. Carina’s mom, Jo Ann, let Carina go with her father for the weekend, believing that she’d be back with her Sunday night. However, when she visited Carina’s father’s home to pick her up, she found the house abandoned and the whole family gone. Little did she know, Carina’s father had taken her to the Phillipines, and she’d live a confused life as a Caucasian-looking girl whose father and other family members would later abandon her.

Carina grew up lost – her Caucasian mother (who was disliked by her father’s Filipino family for her ethnicity) was out of her life, and she was with a family who could never accept her for who she was. She never understood her Caucasian background because she had no known Caucasian family members. She felt a lot of pain because she never felt that she fit in, simply because she shared her mother’s complexion.

Troy Dunn ended up locating Carina’s mother, and determined that she’d never left Carina. We also learned that Carina’s mom had been searching for her, but the police couldn’t even help after Carina’s disappearance because Carina’s disappearance was a civil case.

The reunion was amazing. Mom Jo Ann and daughter Carina hugged and cried. They both love each other so much and it was evident – Carina’s mom held her and told her she’d never leave her again. The two shared joy in the fact that they look alike and were able to see the resemblance in their faces.

Carina introduced her mom to her boyfriend Jose and her daughter, and it was amazing to see the happiness in Jo Ann’s eyes as she met her grandchild. The family plans to spend the holidays together, and Carina and her mom have been communicating regularly.

I hope for the absolute best for Carina and Jo Ann – they have a family to rebuild, and I believe together they can overcome the pain that they felt in the past.

Leaving your babysitter with a checklist

Creating a babysitter checklist is important as it leaves the parents with some comfort knowing the babysitter will follow the schedule that the baby or toddler is used to.  Here are some suggestions that you can use for your babysitter checklist:

The best way to calm your baby.  Whether it is rocking, giving your baby a bottle or singing let your babysitter know what works best for your child.
If your baby is still using a bottle, let them know how the baby likes to be burped.  Some infants burp best over the shoulder while others like to be in the sitting position on the lap.  Some infants like to be burped during their feeding and others like it afterwards.
Leave emergency contact numbers.  Doctor, hospital, neighbors, closest relatives and poison control center are good numbers to leave.
Make them aware of who you allow in the house.  If you don’t want friends over make them aware of it.  Also, let them know what they should do if someone unexpectedly stops over or rings the doorbell.
Show the babysitter where extra baby items are.  Wipes, extra clothes, diapers, pacifiers and extra sheets are essentials that the babysitter may need.
Include on the checklist where the first aid kit and fire extinguisher are.
If the babysitter doesn’t drive leave them with extra gas money for a cab in case there is an emergency.
Leave the babysitter with an average schedule of what your infant or toddler’s needs are.  The amount of food, feeding times and how often you change them are great things to make the babysitter aware of.
Show your babysitter how to work the television.  Many people have different setups which require different remotes.  Watching television will give the babysitter something to do after your child falls asleep.

Be sure to ask your babysitter if they have any questions before you leave.  Sometimes, a babysitter may not know how to work a gas stove.  They may also have never made a bottle before.  If this is the case, be sure to show them everything they need to know before you leave.
