Have Time for the Family

Before you work, it’s best to first spend a lot of time at home making sure things are well and fine – that the house will not shut down, the bills are paid and the refrigerator is filled.

Have Time for Your Kids

Even if you have to travel on a certain day for work or whatever you have lined up, as a true-blue working mom, you need to wake up early to prepare and make sure that that your kids are all set for school.

Aside from seeing your kids off to school, time for the kids should also come in at night when you are home from your work. You should realize that you might really miss out and not get to know your kids as well as you’d really like.

What you have to do is literally spend time with them sitting in front of the TV – not talking not doing anything – just seeing what it is that makes them tick, what it is that makes them laugh, what they’re watching on TV, what they are fighting about, what one does want to watch and not the other, what they don’t want to watch together, which commercials they like, which toys they think are cool and not…

Make the most of whatever time you have together. It might not be as much as others have, but it matters a lot that you’re confident that you know your kids pretty well.

It’s also nice if you can wrestle or get foolish and playful with your kids when it’s time to monkey around. Do the things they do. Meet them at their level rather than insist that they grow up right away. If you have boys, understand that boys will be boys, which means that they have to be a little more rowdy. Go ahead and get down and dirty with them because they like that.

Have Time for Your Husband

The time you and your husband spend with the kids isn’t the same with the time you spend only with each other. Try to sneak in dinner dates once in a while after work, no matter how late. Text each other, but don’t just text sweet nothings, text each other jokes, have a contest which is who can make the other one laugh harder. Try to outwit each other, it’s fun.

In a time when time flies by so quickly and children grow up fast, many working moms feel guilty about not being able to spend as much time with their kids and family as they would want. When I was a little girl, my mom and I used to cook and bake together, wearing matching mom and daughter aprons. We used to make her favorite, Sheperd’s Pie.

It’s sometimes these little memories that create the most impact and also create traditions in our lives.

I think that every child needs an apron for many reasons. Aprons are not just for the kitchen anymore, when I was little if you were cooking it was an apron for anything else we called them smocks. Long gone are the days of using Dad’s old shirt as a smock, today there are trendy and fashionable aprons that makes wearing them something very special.

There are many reasons to buy a child an apron, girl or boy. From cooking in the kitchen to working in the garage with dad, aprons have come back with fashion flair and wearing matching mom and daughter aprons will have your little one wanting to do her chores in her colorful matching apron.

An Apron for gardening is really great for kids. Not only will your gardening apron’s keep your clothes clean, but they are functional as well. Most children’s aprons, boys and girls, come with lots of pockets.

They will be very excited and motivated to “get dressed” for the job and sometimes half the battle is over. When everyone is ready to go in the “cleaning apron”, the chores become more organized. Family cleaning day could be cleaning the house or cleaning up the garage.

Mom… I often wonder where you be?
Not having you here makes it hard to see.

That the world is still good and there is a lot more to give.
I’m more focused on your absence, then trying to live.

They say you are with God in that great big blue sky.
Then why does you being with Him seem to make me wanna cry?

Couldn’t God see that you were still needed here?
Instead of taking you away where you were no longer near.

Your heart was so sweet and thoughtful to boot!
You reached out your hand to all those that you knew.

Not with judgment, criticism or an upper backhand,
But only with love and kindness towards all your fellowman.

Your friendship that I gained is worth more to me than gold.
I will forever proclaim it; it will never grow old.

For those of you who had a chance to meet this special treasure,
You all unanimously voted that she was an absolute pleasure.

For despite all her pain and unfortunate misfortunes in life,
She remained a solid rock in her faith despite all the strife.

So if you never got a chance to meet my mom that I love so dear,

They have determined that they can just as easily run and manage a family as well as a business, particularly an internet based business, all from the comforts of their homes.

This is the reason that so many mothers choose to work at home. They want to establish some type of financial standings while still being able to watch over their children. Making money online can be a great idea for stay at home moms. It provides a flexible schedule as well as the benefit of little commuting. Some examples of great ways to make money online are: owning a home business, completing surveys, freelancing, and reading emails. Providing mothers with the best ways to make an income online, these opportunities put money into moms’ pockets.

Owning an online business can be difficult, but if a person is dedicated it can be very beneficial. An Amazing Episode of WE Tv’s The Locator: Daughter Carina Meets Mom Jo Ann

On November 21, 2010, WE TV aired an episode of The Locator that featured a 27 year old woman named Carina. She lived her life believing that everyone she loves leaves her, because she was told that her mom left her when she was two years old, followed by the fact that her dad and grandmother both abandoned her as well.

Carina lived her life believing that her underage mom abandoned her, as she was told that her mom was 17 and had a lot of problems. In reality, her father stole her from her 18 year old mother, and took her to the Phillipines without mother’s consent. Carina’s mom, Jo Ann, let Carina go with her father for the weekend, believing that she’d be back with her Sunday night. However, when she visited Carina’s father’s home to pick her up, she found the house abandoned and the whole family gone. Little did she know, Carina’s father had taken her to the Phillipines, and she’d live a confused life as a Caucasian-looking girl whose father and other family members would later abandon her.

Carina grew up lost – her Caucasian mother (who was disliked by her father’s Filipino family for her ethnicity) was out of her life, and she was with a family who could never accept her for who she was. She never understood her Caucasian background because she had no known Caucasian family members. She felt a lot of pain because she never felt that she fit in, simply because she shared her mother’s complexion.

Troy Dunn ended up locating Carina’s mother, and determined that she’d never left Carina. We also learned that Carina’s mom had been searching for her, but the police couldn’t even help after Carina’s disappearance because Carina’s disappearance was a civil case.

The reunion was amazing. Mom Jo Ann and daughter Carina hugged and cried. They both love each other so much and it was evident – Carina’s mom held her and told her she’d never leave her again. The two shared joy in the fact that they look alike and were able to see the resemblance in their faces.

Carina introduced her mom to her boyfriend Jose and her daughter, and it was amazing to see the happiness in Jo Ann’s eyes as she met her grandchild. The family plans to spend the holidays together, and Carina and her mom have been communicating regularly.

I hope for the absolute best for Carina and Jo Ann – they have a family to rebuild, and I believe together they can overcome the pain that they felt in the past.

How to Balance Work and Home Life as a Single Mother

Raising kids isn’t a simple task for families that have both parents. When you hear, “it takes a village to raise a child,” it is really true. When you’re a village of one, you face even more challenges. No matter what your situation is, there is nothing easy about raising them, but just know that the hardships are definitely worth it. I am a single mom, and raising my kids is one hell of a journey. My village consists of very loving aunts, uncles and grandma and grandpa. At the end of the day however, it is still up to us, moms to take care for them while working to earn a living.

Challenges, anxiety and stress always accompany a single mother. Both work and home demands time, dedication and attention. Some women weren’t able to balance these demands. Often they neglect their children while trying so hard to earn

A concerned mom often encounters a dilemma like this. The urge to stay at home and care for the kids is always there. But, in order for her and the kids to live, she has to earn. And, that leaves her no choice

Since there is no choice but to work, the second question that pops into their minds is how to work competently in their jobs while being a great mom at the same time?

Yes. It is really a dilemma. And sometimes, we spent a lot of time racking our brains out for a solution for this. I know, because I was once like that before.

So, how will you survive the growing years of your children and still manage to stay sane? Let me share to you what I learned along the way. Read on.

Home management for me is a constant learning process. Dealing with heartbreak and having a new baby while tending a pre-teen son is no easy job. Having to work in an office at the same time is a bummer. I have to continuously update my “system” and I am always experimenting with new ways of doing things. But, here are a few tried and true tips that have helped our family survive the chaos:

Manage Your Time Well

Set aside one day to plan your daily routine. Schedule every bit of activity for the day. In this manner, you can finish the day without compromising or forgetting some schedules.

Make Sure the Routine You Really Make Works for You

There are all sorts of home management systems out there, but they will inevitably fail if they aren’t tailored to your personality and career.

An organized household won’t happen automatically, but it’s not hard to pick a few areas to streamline. Our household is definitely a work in progress, but at least I know I can usually find my keys!

Always Stay Organized to Stay Ahead at All Times.

Don’t allow yourself to let all chores and “mess” piles up for the day. Because most likely you’ll get more “mess” the next day. Once these things piles up to its great length, it will be time-consuming and more tiring for you to arrange them again.

Let your kids help you in keeping the house clean. Train them at an early age on their small responsibilities in the house. They may grumble at first, but soon it will be routinely to them.

Toddlers could also participate in the “clean up” Just pretend to them that it is part of your games so that they won’t feel it as “work”. They would enjoy the activity as well.

Clean All Problem Areas Daily

There’s always one place in a house where piles accumulate. For us, it’s the kitchen island. It always has random toys, paperwork, mail, etc. If I let it fester, the pile gets out of control. So every day I clear it off. I hate doing it, but it’s better to deal with problem areas before they become giant projects.

Always expect the unexpected.

Sometimes family life is just chaotic. We can’t control when our little ones spill milk on their shirts on the way out the door, or when the baby needs a new diaper just as we need to dash to the bus stop. However, I have found by that controlling what I can, the other stuff becomes more manageable.

I just assume that something is going to slow me down when we are trying to get somewhere. The dog will need to go out. The toddler will lose a shoe. I usually give myself an extra 10 to 15 minutes to allow for these unexpected, but common, delays. Just take a deep breath always and remain calm. Relax! All moms experienced these things. You’re not alone.

Keep a Stocked Diaper Bag, Snack Bin, Backpack, Water,Juice, or First Aid Kit in Your Bag

I like to keep the supplies ready to go so that we are ready to run out the door. I always keep diapers and baby wipes a bin of portable snacks that I can grab on the way out like cereal bars, goldfish, crackers, etcetera.I also keep other bags ready as well. My son’s backpack gets emptied and restocked immediately after school.

I also prepare his school things the night before so that there will be no delays in the schedule the next day.

Have Locations for Commonly-Used Items

Assign a place for keys, school supplies, shoes, backpacks, mail, and so forth. These are the types of things that both make messes and get lost. These are all things that get used daily, and it’s helpful to keep track of them.

Balance Your Work Time and Family Time

Being a working mom is a very demanding role. Being a single working mom poses more demand. I admit that it is sometimes hard without the help of a partner. But, don’t dwell on the past. There’s always a solution to every problem. Just take time to think and act the plan. Hire a reliable baby sitter or ask someone to watch over the kids while you’re at work. And, spend most of your time being with them. They already lost a father! Don’t let them lose you too. Never forget to properly tuck them to bed. Help them in their home works and projects. Take time to visit them at school and in performances. They will be very glad about that. Aside from going to office, bring your toddler to all your other destinations like grocery shopping. Set aside 2-3 hours in the weekend with them. Watch a movie at home or dine out with them or just have snacks while watching TV series is already a big deal to them. Don’t let them feel that you have no time for them. Remember: You’re mainly working because of them. So don’t neglect them or else, your time spent outside working and your career itself, has not worth at all.

Don’t Ever Bring Your Work At Home

There’s always time for everything and that includes “work time”. Once you get home, make sure that the time will be spent wisely on your little family. It’s also a time for all of you to relax for a while and talk about everything that happened the whole day. “After work” time is a time for compensation of “lost time” with the kids. They will appreciate that.

Find Work Close to Home or a Work That You Can Do at Home

This is the best tip that I could recommend to you. Quit your full time job, invest in a small business at home that you’re expert with, and do freelance jobs on the internet. You don’t only get to have a living but also, you could spend a lot of time with your kids while they are still growing up.

I am actually doing that nowadays. I quit my job at the a certain Call Center here in my hometown, I managed to land a new job as an English lecturer that only requires me to teach a few hours – thrice a week away from home. I earn extra cash by tutoring kids in the afternoons and do freelance writing online when the kids are asleep. Not only that I got to do what I love to do (writing and teaching) but now, I got both worlds at the same time and manages to balance my time with both of them. I am more relaxed nowadays than before and, I am very happy with the result. And, the good news is: you can do this too. Just find a niche for your talents, invest for it, make money out of it without leaving home so much.

Don’t Forget To Have an Exclusive Time For Yourself Every Evening.

I find that it is so important to have a bit of time for myself even if it is only fifteen minutes. Make sure you put the kids early to bed every night. If possible, let them to sleep by 8:00 pm. Then, the world is now yours after that. Do what you love to do at these hours. Attend to your hobbies or you might just want to sit down and read. Whatever you do after the kids are asleep is your choice. Just make sure that it is not so rigorous that will make you tire more. Meditate. Sing. Enjoy.

Manage Your Anxiety

Managing the pressure and stress can really take its toll over time. I’ve found the following to be helpful tactics in relieving the anxiety that builds up as a single mom:

– Never forget to take vitamin supplements specially vitamin E. Eat a balanced diet and drink lots of water, milk and green tea.

– Listen to inspiring music. They could uplift your mood.

– Have time to exercise. A daily aerobics during the early hours of the morning will boost your energy throughout the day.

– Talk with other moms about the ups and downs of being a parent. Knowing that you’re not the only one facing challenges as a parent can help reassure you and build up your own confidence.

– I prefer long hot shower and a glass of milk before sleeping. These will induce sleep and calm your nerves. For sleep is beneficial to pour health, it is required for us to have a great sleep of seven to eight hours per night.

Life can be hard sometimes and being a single mom is not an exception. In fact, we get it doubled. But, cheer up! Just look at the loving faces of your kids and these challenges will melt away. When you think of your kids first, balancing life at work and at home will be just an easy one. And even if they’re not, you’ll try to work it out.

Come on! We can do this! I have faith in all of us. We, single moms, can do anything for the kids. So, no matter how hard it is along the way, think of your kids always.

Stay at home moms: Many moms of today choose “work at home job” after having the baby. They find it difficult to keep up with responsibilities of being a full time worker, wife and mother. Moms want their children to grow with love and care. They therefore decide to stay at home after having the baby. At the same time they want to support their husbands financially. Thanks to the Internet, moms are able to make a part time income working at home.

The Pros of Internet home business: Internet is a boon for stay at home moms. They can make money with the comfort of sitting at home. They can work at the times convenient to them. There is no time restrictions to work on Internet. Thousands of moms are successfully making money all over the world. They are very happy that they could spend time with their kids and raise them with care and love.

Internet home business: Of course there are several home businesses out there for the moms. However, Internet home business seems to be the best business for stay at home moms. It is easy to work on Internet from home. Work at home Moms can save a lot of time as they don’t have to travel to the work place. Another important advantage of being an Internet home business mom is that they don’t have to invest any amount for their businesses.

The cons of Internet home business: There are too many scam sites out there. It’s not easy to make money on Internet. You have to work very hard to discover the legit sites. You can’t make much in the beginning of your home business career. Most moms quit as they can’t discover the legit sites. They lose faith to making money on Internet. Eventually they lose interest and at one stage or other they quit.
